摘要
Mycotoxins are highly toxic secondary metabolites that can pose a serious threat to food safety, human health, and the environment. As a promising detoxification method, nano-semiconductor-based photocatalysis has shown great potential for mycotoxin elimination due to its high efficiency, low cost, and green advantages. This review updates advances in the photocatalytic degradation of mycotoxins in food and the environment. The principle, feasibility, and main semiconducting catalysts of mycotoxins photodegradation are first introduced and discussed. Diverse strategies to enhance the efficiency of photocatalytic detoxification are then highlighted and discussed, including single-photocatalyst modification, hybrid composite preparation, and the construction of homogeneous/heterogeneous photocatalysts. For effective mycotoxins decontamination, factors impacting detoxification efficiency are also summarized and explored. Finally, present concerns and challenges in this expanding sector were reviewed, as well as future prospects.
