This book chapter summarizes various works reported on textile-based shielding materials such as coated fabrics, conductive fibers/yarns, ferrite-loaded filler, and fabric composites. The novel methods by which insulating textile materials are converted into conductive shields have been reported. For improving the absorptive shielding, the polymer composites reinforced with conductive fillers and fabrics have been analyzed and effect of various material parameters on shielding effectiveness have been reported. Especially, fabric reinforced 3 phase composite has been discussed. Similarly, shielding behavior of hard and soft magnetic particles loaded polymer matrix has also been covered. The research works carried out coated ferrite particles and hybrid ferrite composites have been discussed with respect to their magnetic properties. The novel approaches for improving the absorptive shielding behavior of textile based structures are also discussed in this chapter.
