Through Smart Manufacturing, cars have a significant learning curve, that is, the cumulative sales volume of cars doubles, and the cost per car will drop by 10%-20%. New energy vehicle companies demonstrate the power of Smart Manufacturing, increasing sales and continuously reducing production costs in the world. Tesla in the United States and BYD in China have achieved cost reductions by boosting sales. This article quantitatively reveals the size of the impact of Smart Manufacturing on the cost of new energy vehicle companies, and points out that the company's cost per car and profit margin are mainly determined by the cumulative sales of a single model, and the cumulative sales depend on the company's digital capabilities. Based on the above research, it is recommended that new energy vehicle companies strengthen Smart Manufacturing to achieve profitability and success. Investors should prioritize the companies that can continuously reduce cost and improve profit margin through strong digital capabilities.
