摘要
An omnidirectional 5G mmWave frontend module is proposed. The frontend module covers 5G frequencies from 24.25 GHz up to 29.5 GHz (n258, n257, and n261 3GPP bands). Dual linear polarization is supported. 24 beamformer ICs feed a phased array antenna with $2\times 96$ elements. The concept is modular – a sub-module is used as a base. Several PCB sub-modules are stacked to create the complete frontend. The proposed design consists of four sub-modules and achieves 360° scanning performance in azimuth, ± 45° in elevation and an EIRP of about 50 dBm.
