The extracapsular extension (ECE) of regional lymph nodes has been reported as a worse prognostic factor in resected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Because the margin status of ECE is not clear, ECE in the separately resected LN was classified as incomplete resection in the IASLC residual tumor classification. We investigate whether the additional local control by adjuvant concurrent chemoradiation therapy improves survival outcomes compared with adjuvant chemotherapy in ECE-positive pN2 NSCLC patients who underwent complete surgical resection.
