Bipolar Membrane with Porous Anion Exchange Layer for Efficient and Long‐Term Stable Electrochemical Reduction of CO2 to CO (Adv. Energy Mater. 38/2023)
Bipolar Membrane CO2 Electrolysis Bipolar membranes promise to solve several issues occuring in the electrochemical reduction of CO2, like salt precipitation and carbonate crossover. However, they suffer from poor stability and energy efficiency. In the article number 2301614, Joey Disch, Stefan Ingenhoven, and Severin Vierrath present a strategy to enable efficient and stable operation with a bipolar membrane by employing porous anion exchange layers.
