Abstract Aiming at the problem that fluorine chemical industry has caused different degrees of harm to the environment and human health, we prepared a graphene oxide‐supported lanthanum foundation organic framework to treat fluorine‐containing wastewater. In this study, La‐MOF/GO is prepared using the solvothermal method. The results show that when the La‐MOF:GO quality ratio is 7:1, the organic framework prepared shows the best fluorine removal effect. Under the optimal adsorption reaction conditions of 25 °C, pH of 4 and contact time 4 h, La‐MOF/GO was used to treat 30 mg/L fluorine‐containing wastewater. The removal rate of fluoride was 94.9%, and the adsorption capacity was 94.89 mg/g. The presence of four anions, Cl ˉ , SO ₄ 2ˉ , CO ₃ 2ˉ , and PO ₄ 3ˉ had little effect on the defluorination performance of La‐MOF/GO. La‐MOF/GO adsorbed fluorine through endothermic reaction and single molecular layer chemisorption process, and its reusability was good. La‐MOF/GO adsorbent improves the problem of easy agglomeration of metal‐organic skeleton materials. It has great advantages in treating fluorine‐containing wastewater.
