Advances in cyanoacrylate structural adhesives

This chapter summarizes recent major advancements in cyanoacrylate (CA) instant adhesive technology, including new developments in the synthesis and manufacture of cyanoacrylate monomers as well as advancements in CA adhesives with improved thermal and humidity resistance. The chapter also covers new developments in gap curing cyanoacrylates via new two-component and hybrid adhesives with outstanding performance properties as well as recent advances in photocuring and biomedical cyanoacrylates. Finally, sustainability and health and safety issues are discussed and the future challenges for cyanoacrylate technology are addressed.
