摘要
The increasing concern about mycotoxins' contamination of food and feed has led to a significant increase in publications and reviews on mycotoxin biosensors. However, a comprehensive investigation of mycotoxins as endocrine disruptors (EDMs) and biosensors' publication output volume still needs improvement. This study used bibliometric visualisation map analysis to explore publication outputs, trends, and hotspots for EDM biosensor development. The first stage identified 12 mycotoxins that may cause endocrine disruption in the scientific literature. The second stage used the names of these 12 mycotoxins as keywords to search in the Scopus database from 2000 to 2022. The bibliometric visualisation maps were created using VOSviewer software. The analysis of the visualisation maps showed that the literature primarily focuses on biosensors developed to detect mycotoxins that are known to be highly toxic and widely distributed in food. There needs to be more focus on developing biosensors for detecting mycotoxins, known as endocrine disruptors. The review also highlights areas for future research to fill knowledge gaps in the association of EDMs biosensors as plans for early detection, which have been explained through the bibliographic maps.
