Objective To explore the relationship between the serum VILIP-1,IGF-1 concentration and cognitive impairment in patients with ischemic stroke. Methods 124 cases with acute ischemic stroke were admmitted in stroke unit ward of our hospital during June 1,2012 to December 31,2012. 96 healthy volunteers were recruited as the healthy control. Clinical information and dates of case group and the control group were collected and analyzed. The concentrations of serum VILIP-1,IGF-1 were quantitatively determinated by ELISA. Compared respectively of the differences of serum VILIP-1,IGF-1concentrations between the cerebral infarction group and control group, the cognitive impairment group and normal cognitive function group, and to explore the relationship between serum VILIP-1,IGF-1 concentration and cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke. Results Compared with normal cognitive function group, the cognitive impairment patients had significantly higher VILIP-1 concentration [(669. 69 ± 103. 84) pg / ml vs(503. 29 ± 142. 39) pg / ml; P 0. 01],lower IGF-1 concentration[(96. 50 ± 17. 88) ng / ml vs(114. 62 ± 14. 01) ng / ml; P 0. 01]. Conclusions There are correlation between higher VILIP-1 serum concentrations, low serum concentrations of IGF-1 in patients with acute cerebral infarction and the occurrence of cognitive impairment after stroke.
