摘要
With the rapid development of electric vehicles and smart grids, exploring more advanced energy storage technology has become a key issue. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been considered as one of the most promising electrochemical energy storage technologies. However, the development of high-performance LIBs is greatly restricted by cathode materials. As a very promising cathode material for LIBs, V6O13 possesses the advantages of high theoretical specific capacity of 420 mAh/g and relatively low cost. In this work, we reviewed the preparation and performance improvement methods for V6O13 as a cathode material for LIBs. In particular, the modification strategies such as constructing nanostructures, ions doping, and surface coating were summarised. Finally, some possible methods for further improving the electrochemical performance of V6O13 are proposed.
