Lasing emission is a good way to exhibit the excellent optical properties of quantum dots (QDs). In this paper, we synthesize the Tin disulfide (SnS2) QDs by a facile method of sonication. In a Fabry–Perot laser cavity, the lasing emission at ~500 nm is realized by the SnS2 QDs with an excitation threshold value of 19.3 kW/cm2. The results show that the SnS2 QDs have a promising application as laser gain medium.
