摘要
The central role of chiral separation by liquid chromatography (LC) is well established as well as its impact on applied sciences, and it is an important player for assessing enantiomeric composition in a number of analytical scenarios and also for obtaining enantiopure small molecules in preparative scale. This chapter will discuss the function of chiral selectors and the interdependent role of elution conditions in enantiomeric separations. Some systematic workflows for selecting the appropriate analytical conditions will be discussed in the light of some selected applications for direct separation using chiral stationary phase. New column technologies have created conditions for ultrafast separations, and thus, the state-of-the art will also be covered in this chapter.
