Drug-induced Nail Diseases

Melanonychia usually appears as a longitudinal band due to nail matrix lesion. Hypermelanosis, lentigo, and nevus are the most frequent diagnoses, and the main differential diagnosis is the nail apparatus melanoma. History, clinical features, and dermoscopy of the nail plate, nail bed, and nail matrix contribute to the diagnosis; however, histologic examination remains as the gold-standard diagnostic method.
