Rapid improvement in pulmonary function after inflammatory autobullectomy

Bullae frequently occur during lung emphysema and may lead to respiratory complications like spontaneous pneumothorax or secondary infection. Although progressive enlargement of pulmonary bullae is common, spontaneous regression over time is possible and described as "autobullectomy" [ [1] Miller W.C. Unger K.M. Suich D.M. Autobullectomy. We present the case of a man with history of smoking induced lung emphysema who experienced rapid improvement in pulmonary function after autobullectomy.
