Research on the Long-term Quality of Life of Patients With Cholelithiasis and Gallbladder Polyps After Operation

Objective To evaluate the influence of different operative way on the quality of life of postoperative patients who suffered from cholelithiasis and gallbladder polyps. Methods Values in the quality of life of 289 post-operative patients who suffered from cholelithiasis and gallbladder polyps were tested by using gastrointestinal quality of life index. Results The mean GLQI score of 289 patients is 114. 0, and much less than that of normal cases whose GLQI score is 124.5 ( P < 0.01 ). The mean GLQI score of 230 patients with cholelithiasis is 113.8, the mean GLQI score of 36 patients with gallbladder polyps is 117.2, and the mean GLQI score of 23 patients with cholelithiasis and gallbladder polyps is 110.4. The mean GLQI score of patients who underwent gallbladder-preserving operation is 117.8, and the mean GLQI score of patients who underwent cholecystectomy is 109.6, and there were significant difference ( P < 0.01 ). The mean GLQI score of patients who underwent open cholecystectomy is 109.6, and the mean GLQI score of patients who underwent laparascopic cholecystectomy is 109. 6, and there were not significant difference ( P> 0.05 ). Conclusion The quality of life of patients with cholelithiasis who underwent gallbladder-preserving operation is better than that of patients who underwent cholecystectomy. To excise gallbladder decreases the quality of life of patients. Key words: Quality of life;  Cholelithiasis;  Gallbladder polyps;  Gallbladder-preserving operation
