Sevelamer-Induced Colitis Presenting as a Pseudotumor

A 79-year-old Korean man with a history of end-stage renal disease on dialysis as well as diabetes mellitus and ischemic heart disease was admitted for 3 months' complaint of nonbloody diarrhea, intermittent right lower quadrant abdominal pain and fever. On examination the patient had stable vital signs. The abdominal examination was significant for tenderness on palpation in the right lower quadrant without rebound, guarding, or palpable mass. Laboratory test results on admission showed an increased white blood cell count of 13,400/uL with normal hemoglobin, hematocrit, and platelet level.
