摘要
This paper presents a broadband MIMO antenna for LTE/5G sub-6 GHz communication by using characteristic mode (CM) analysis. For enhancing the isolation of the proposed antenna, the CM analysis of the antenna is implemented. With the characteristic mode current distribution, locations with large amplitudes of current coupling can be found and then decoupled by slotting and applying parasitic elements. The proposed antenna consists of a main patch with four metal bezels and the overall size of the antenna is 100×60×4 . The simulated bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 2.01~2.62 GHz (50.8%) at S11/S22<-10 dB and S21>-14 dB. The simulated gain of the antenna is about 2.17 dBi. These attractive features make the antenna an ideal candidate for LTE/5G sub-6 GHz communication application.
