The rapid development of 5G communications and the proliferation of portable electronic devices are leading to an increasing problem of electromagnetic pollution. As a result, the need for materials with high electromagnetic interference (EMI)-shielding properties is becoming increasingly urgent. Considering the need for low density, high structural stability, and low energy consumption in practical applications, lightweight, highly elastic, and low metal consumption EMI-shielding foams have become a hot research topic in the field of retrofitting. In this chapter, first, the need for lightweight materials and the advantages of polymer foaming are briefly explored. Second, the EMI-shielding properties and corresponding mechanisms of metallic foams and metallized polymer-based composite foams are reviewed. Finally, a summary and conclusions from the field will be discussed.
