摘要
Acellular dermal matrices (ADMs) are of major importance in managing full-thickness skin defects, both in acute and in chronic wounds. Based on the advantage of tissue specificity, ADMs provide the ideal scaffold for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering strategies to support the generation of vascularized tissue with dermal features. However, tissue source and processing methodologies used to produce ADMs influence the biochemical and structural characteristics of the final scaffold and the resulting tissue and clinical outcome. The focus of this chapter is to review the development of ADMs including requirements, manufacturing techniques, biological responses, and clinical outcomes for ADMs used for dermal replacement and wound healing applications.
