摘要
As the Agrobacterium [Rhizobium] transformation process involves many stages, different pre- and post-agroinfection strategies have been employed by workers to achieve maximum transformation efficiency. In this chapter, these strategies are discussed in the context of strawberry transformation. Factors affecting transformation and regeneration of transformants are described. Robust in vitro regeneration and transformation protocols are presented. Pointers on how to estimate transformation success are provided, emphasizing that transformation efficiency and transformation percentage are not synonymous. Future perspectives are also given.
