The nuclear power plants, industries, medical and nuclear research institutes, manufacturing industries for nuclear weapons are the significant sources for generation of radioactive wastes. The disposal of such radioactive wastes is one of the most critical issues which can be led to various hazards if it could not do accurately. The present study highlights the use of thermoplastic containers for the disposal of radioactive waste. The radioactive wastes are classified according to the nature of emission and disposal strategy of such radioactive wastes is also discussed. A case study for additive manufacturing and friction stir spot welding of polyether ether ketone (PEEK) has been reviewed for disposal of radioactive wastes.
