Pulmonary arterial hypertension is a disease with poor prognosis.Hypoxic pulmonary hypertension(HPH) caused by multiple chronic pulmonary diseases has increased in recent years. The phosphatidylionsitol-3-kinases/protein-serine-threonine kinase/mammalian target of rapamycin (PI3K/Akt/mTOR) signal pathway is an important signal pathway for HPH and pulmonary vascular remodeling by affecting cell proliferation, migration, apoptosis, protein synthesis, cell cycle activities in pulmonary vascular.Current article reviews the researches of PI3K/Akt/mTOR signal pathway in HPH, in order to better understand the pathogenesis of HPH and provide information for new therapeutic of HPH.
