Li2SnO3 has been synthesized by the sol-gel method using acetates of lithium and tin. The Li2SnO3 precursor was then characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) to determine the suitable calcination temperature and confirm the formation of Li2SnO3. The chemical diffusion coefficient of lithium ion, DLi+ in Li2SnO3 was determined from two different electrochemical methods i.e. cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). TheDLi+ of Li2SnO3 obtained from CV technique was 1.31 × 10−10 cm2 s−1 whereas the DLi+ determined from EIS analysis were in the range from 10−12 to 10−14 cm2 s−1 for Li2SnO3 cell at different cycles.
