Photoelectrochemical (PEC) immunoassay has showed attractive potential for future bioanalysis due to its merit integrated the excellent specificity of immunoassay and superior sensitivity of PEC sensor. Signal amplification strategies play important functions in the development of highly sensitive PEC immunosensing system. Moreover, deep insight into PEC sensing protocols will benefit the design of advanced PEC immunoassay. Thus, perspective on signal amplification strategies and sensing protocols in PEC immunoassay present promising potentials in bioanalysis. Therefore, we systematically summarize the most recent advances in signaling amplification strategies initially. Then the potential recent advances in design of PEC immunosensing protocols are discussed. Finally, future outlooks of PEC immunoassay is also highlighted. We hope this work could help researchers comprehensively understand the latest advances in the field of PEC immunoassay.
