摘要
Recently, the exploration of novel electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction and hydrogen evolution reactions has been in the research spotlight of materials science, energy storage and conversion, and renewable energy, etc. For these catalysts, carbon-based materials are very important functional components, and the role of carbon materials has evolved from simple conductive substrates to important active species. From this research, deeper and more accurate insights into the catalytic mechanisms and activity origins of these materials have been obtained. In this chapter, we comprehensively review and summarize the recent developments of carbon materials for the electrochemical catalysis of oxygen reduction and hydrogen evolution. By doing this, we hope to shed light on the future development and design of novel materials with high catalytic activity for various electrochemical reactions.
