Research Progress of Chemical Conversion Coatings on Magnesium Alloys

This paper reviewed the status of chemical conversion coatings on magnesium alloys at home and abroad.The research progress of different chemical conversion coatings such as chromate,phosphate,stannate,molybdate,rare earth salt and phytic acid were introduced.The performance of the different conversion coatings above were evaluated and the advantages and disadvantages of various methods were also contrasted.Finally the future development direction of the chemical conversion coatings on magnesium alloy was put forward.
