摘要
To evaluate the efficacy and safety of lomefloxacin in adults with acute respiratory bacterial infection, a total of 80 patients with respiratory tract infections were randomly assigned to receive either lomefloxacin 300mg tablet twice a day or ciprofloxacin 400mg twice a day for 7 to 14 days. The results are that 95%(38/40) of the patients in the lomefloxacin group were judged cured or improved, and in the ciprofloxacin group were 80%(32/40). No significance was found between the two groups ( P 0.05). Eradication of the causative pathogens was achieved in 89.7%(35/39) of the lomefloxacin and in 88.6%(31/35) of the ciprofloxacin group. No significance was found either ( P 0.05). Tolerability was judged as good in 90% of lomefloxacin group, superior to ciprofloxacin group. These results suggested that lomefloxacin represented safe and effective therapy for bacterial infections.
