摘要
This paper presents a very brief overview of an extensive research and technology development that was led by Safieddin (Ali) Safavi-Naeini on the K/Ka-band mobile satellite communication (SATCOM). The developed system is based on modular scalable architecture. It consists of two 32×32 (1024) element active-PAA panels for transmit and receive. It allows for establishing both reliable uplink and downlink communication with GEO satellites. Preliminary over-the-air measured results show good performance. The antennas’ main beam can be steered electronically over scanning range ± 70 deg.
