In the realm of pharmaceutical science, the advancement of drug delivery systems for chemotherapy has been nothing short of extraordinary. Nevertheless, the precise targeting of anticancer agents to specific tissues within the human body remains a formidable challenge. Addressing this conundrum, our study harnesses the potential of functionalized carbon nano onions (CNOs) as carriers for the targeted delivery of therapeutic agents to cancerous cells. These remarkable CNOs are ingeniously adorned with folic acid, endowing them with the ability to interface with the abundant folate receptors gracing the surfaces of malignant cells.
