摘要
Micro-LED is a potentially disruptive display technology, while color performance and power consumption are critical metrics for all display devices. In this chapter, we discuss the angular color shift of micro-LED display which consists of individual AlGaInP-based red micro-LED and InGaN-based blue/green micro-LEDs. Due to material difference, the sidewall emissions from micro-LED chips cause mismatched angular distribution, leading to visually noticeable color shift at large viewing angle. Approaches to suppress the color shift is discussed. In addition to color shift, we discuss the power consumption of micro-LED displays under different ambient conditions. Chip size-dependent power consumption model is proposed to optimize the micro-LED sizes for power saving.
