摘要
ABSTRACT As the concern over nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) warfare has grown, the Navy has sought ways to improve shipboard personnel NBC protection. The current Navy design for the DDG‐51 class includes a Collective Protection System (CPS) against NBC threats. This CPS will affect the ship design, especially heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The CPS system will change usual damage control procedures and other routine and emergency ship evolutions. The CPS will change the crew's way of living. Ship's evolutions, both routine and emergency, must be modified to take CPS into account. Design and crew training effects of CPS should be considered early in the ship's life cycle.
