Determination of Acrylonitrile, Dimethyl Sulfoxide, Dimethyl Sulfone and Sulfolane in Water By GC with Direct Injection

A new method for determination of dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl sulfone, acrylonitrile and sulfolane in water by GC was established. Acrylonitrile, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl sulfone and sulfolane were determined by capillary gas chromatography with hydrogen FID and small volume direct injection. The linear range of the method was 1.00 ~ 50.0 mg/L.The relative standard deviation was less than 3.5%. The average recovery was 94.5% ~ 104%. The correlation coefficient of the standard curve were more than 0.999 2 and the lowest limit of detection was less than 0.03mg/L. The method can be used for monitoring of acrylonitrile, dimethyl sulfoxide, dimethyl sulfone and sulfolane in water.
