Thermal stability of single-atom catalysts is of great importance for their practical applications. Reporting recently in Nature, Liu and colleagues developed a strategy to graft isolated CeOx nanoclusters hosting only one Pt atom onto high-surface-area SiO2 support, which exhibited good stability under both oxidative and reductive atmosphere at elevated temperatures.
