Synthesis and Spectroscopic Characterization of a Dawson Trivanadium-Substituted Polyoxotungstate-Supported {(Cp*Rh)2}4+Complex; (Bun4N)5[(Cp*Rh)2P2W15V3O62]

Abstract A novel polyoxotungstate-based 2 : 1-type Cp*Rh2+ complex, (Bun4N)5[(Cp*Rh)2P2W15V3O62] (Cp* = C5Me5), was synthesized by a direct reaction of the Dawson trivanadium-substituted polyoxotungstate (Bun4N)9[α-1,2,3-P2W15V3O62] with an equimolar amount of [Cp*RhCl2]2 in ice-cooled CH2Cl2, without use of silver(I) salts to remove the chloride ions of the precursor.
