摘要
Although it is a difficult concept to prove, there is increasing evidence that well-planned interprofessional education (IPE) in the health service can ultimately improve patient care. Using Kolb's learning cycle, the authors were able to reflect on IPE within a university non-medical prescribing programme. IPE can be encouraged in this setting, if lecturers understand its advantages and barriers, and adapt learning to encourage its development in both colleagues and students. Many barriers to effective IPE have been identified, such as professional rivalry and historical uniprofessional education. The authors were also able to consider learning strategies to promote its use, such as problem-based learning, practice-based learning and exchange-based learning.
