摘要
The chapter presents the use of molecularly imprinted polymers as biomimetic receptors for the development of electrochemical sensors. Several techniques for molecularly imprinted polymers preparation and characterization are described with a focus on electrochemical synthesis in situ. An overview of the main components used for electrochemical synthesis of molecularly imprinted polymers is presented, describing the most commonly employed monomers for electropolymerization, as well as the benefits of integrating nanomaterials in molecularly imprinted layers. Finally, applications of electrochemical molecularly imprinted polymers based sensors for the analysis of biomedical, food and environmental samples are presented.
