摘要
Metabolic reprogramming of macrophages plays a predominant role in regulating their phenotypes but also their plasticity.Preliminary reports showed that classic activation of macrophage (M1) relies on anaerobic glycolysis, while alternative activation (M2) on fatty acid oxidation (FAO). While recent results found that anaerobic glycolysis was also involved in the activation of M1, and FAO in M2.In this article we summarized the mechanisms by which anaerobic glycolysis and FAO regulate pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory functions of macrophages.
