摘要
Phyllosphere microbiota forms the micro-ecosystem where chemical communication and compounds get exchanged between microbial communities that include bacteria, viruses, archaea, and eukaryotic taxa. This chapter intends to highlight the current advances in understanding the phyllosphere microbiota and composition to increase the yield of the crop. It illustrates the plant–microbe interactions and provides the basis for a comprehensive data of the microbial ecology of the phyllosphere. The phyllospheremicrobiota is very important. The significance of phyllosphere microbiota in agriculture is represented. The phyllosphere is rich in diversity of microorganisms which help in sustainable agriculture. The microorganisms present in the phyllosphere region help in the plant growth by various ways. The plant–pathogen interaction by phyllosphere microorganisms is also represented. The plant–microbe interactions in the phyllosphere will help to understand the microbial ecology. The phyllosphere microorganisms will have biotechnological applications and also in environmental clean-up.
