摘要
Waterproof and breathable membranes (WBM) have diverse applications in outdoor apparel, wearable electronics, and medical hygiene because they can withstand liquid water penetration while simultaneously transmitting water vapor. Nevertheless, developing potential nontoxic WBM based on ecologically friendly solvents remains a significant issue. Therefore, we prepared polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) waterproof and permeable membranes (PWBM) with a remarkable moisture transfer rate of 11.9 kg m–2 d–1, a high hydrostatic pressure of 81.5 kPa, and an astonishing tensile strain of 554%, so the produced PWBM demonstrates great capabilities. Besides, the obtained PWBM also has outstanding chemical resistance and appealing superhydrophobicity. The development of the subsequent generation of environmentally friendly WBM for protective garments may be therefore beneficial to the successful fabrication of such green smart fibrous membranes.
