摘要:It has been found that the current density and temperature of an arc discharge at constant current can be increased not only by increasing the apparent ionization potential, but also by introducing electronegative elements into the discharge zone. The main effect of introducing these elements is that the conductivity becomes more temperature-dependent, leading to an increase of the ratio of losses to heating at the edges of the discharge, and conversely to a reduction of this ratio in the center.
