The results of the research of the growth and development law showed that the whole growth period of Plantago asiatica L.from its sowing day to its maturity day is about 240~270 days, which could be divided into six stages:the seedling stage, the over-wintering stage, the growth-recovering stage, the fast-growing stage, the booting(earing) stage, and the maturing stage. These stages would sometimes overlap. The organs and plant dry matter of Plantago asiatica L.increased with its growth progress, and the accumulation of its dry matter in its whole growth period shaped like S.The distribution rates of dry matter of its organs changed greatly during its growth period. The dry matter distribution centered on leaves during its nutrient growth period, while during its reproducing period, the dry matter distribution focused on its ears. The analysis of its growth showed that:the relative growth rates, the leaf areas rates as well as its net assimilation rates could fairly reflect its growing and maturing status quo.
