Microalgae have been identified as a promising solution for capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) and have been proven to be one of the most effective methods for CO2 reduction. The present research discloses CO2 fixation through green approach using novel microalgal species (Dictyosphaerium sp. strain DHM1 & strain DHM2) and evaluation of growth kinetics along with biomass characterization. Both microalgal strains were supplied with 0.04%, 2%, and 4% CO2 concentration in two different sorts of photobioreactors (Lab-scale photobioreactor and Multi-Cultivator). Results showed that the growth parameters for both microalgal species substantially increased when supplied with 4% CO2 compared to when supplied with 0.04% and 2% CO2 in either type of Photobioreactor. Maximum growth was observed for Dictyosphaerium DHM1 when it was grown in 4% carbon dioxide in the Multi-Cultivator with 2.802 g L−1 (Xmax), 0.2 g L−1 d−1 (Pmax), and highest carbon dioxide fixation rate was 0.21 g L−1 d−1.
