摘要
Lasers are generally classified into semiconductor lasers, gas lasers, and solid-state lasers and applied to various fields. This chapter explains the fundamental part of the laser such as fluorescence generation and stimulated emission phenomenon. Ceramics has properties more excellent than a single crystal and will support laser science in the future. By the way, a trace amount of SiO2 sintering aid is added to almost all garnet type laser ceramics developed in the past. The sintering aid is very effective for making the material transparent, lowering the sintering temperature, and shortening the sintering time, but it also has disadvantages. Yttrium aluminum garnet laser ceramics developed by Ikesue in 1995, and all subsequent laser ceramics are a cubic crystal system.
