Application of revised design charts for steep reinforced slopes

After several years of application and after further research studies, earlier published design charts for steep reinforced slopes have been fully revised and extended to provide greater economy and flexibility in design. The charts now extend to the vertical case and are valid for the full range of polymer reinforcement materials including geotextiles and polymer grids. Saving in reinforcement quantities in the range 20% to 30% are typical. This paper describes the practical application of the revised charts and is illustrated by worked examples.
