摘要
Objective
To study the effect of the expression of protein histidine phosphatase LHPP on the prognosis of pancreatic cancer.
Methods
Pathological sections of cancer tissues and adjacent non-tumor tissues from 99 patients with pancreatic cancer after operations were collected. Tissue microarray-based immunohistochemistry technique was used to detect the expression of LHPP in pancreatic cancer tissues. Clinicopathological features of the patients were collected, and the relationship between the expression of LHPP and the clinicopathological features of pancreatic cancer was analyzed.
Results
The expression of LHPP in pancreatic cancer tissue was lower than that in adjacent non-tumor tissue (χ2=19.841, P<0.05). The expression of LHPP was related to histological grade (χ2=6.386, P<0.05), American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) stage (χ2=4.608, P<0.05) and whether dead in short time (χ2=6.832, P<0.01). The expression of LHPP was related to the overall survival rate of pancreatic cancer patients (χ2=11.342, P<0.05). The higher the expression of LHPP, the longer the survival time. The expression of LHPP (P<0.05), histological grade (P<0.01), and N stage (P<0.01) were independent factors influencing the prognosis of pancreatic cancer patients.
Conclusion
The expression of LHPP is an independent prognostic factor for pancreatic cancer. The prognosis of high expression group is better than that of low expression group.
