Risk management is the decision-making phase of the Risk Analysis Cycle. In this phase the different elements identified during the risk assessments process are combined with cost, benefits and/or socioeconomic considerations for supporting the decision or selection of the best option. Risk management may be needed during the manufacturing, use, and disposal of hazardous chemicals, to minimize adverse effects on human health and the environment. Chemical risk management comprises decision-making processes at the individual, company/sector, and regulatory levels; as well as international activities. In the regulatory frame, differences are observed between sectors and jurisdictions.
