A review of the influence of class II functional appliance on TMJ

The class Ⅱ malocclusions have high incidence and often result from mandibular retrusion or deficiency. Correcting the relationships between the maxilla and mandible in sagittal plane by functional appliance is a common clinical therapy. This article reviewed from several aspects: the mechanism, treatment time and the growth remodeling of temporomandibular joint after the therapy.
