摘要
To explore the prognostic value of pretreatment Geriatric Nutrition Risk Index (GNRI) in lung cancer patients. The PubMed, EMBASE and Web of Science electronic databases were searched up to October 5, 2021 for relevant studies. The primary and second outcomes were the overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) and the hazard ratios (HRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were combined to assess the association between GNRI and prognosis of lung cancer patients.A total of eight retrospective studies involving 2012 patients were included and all of them were from Asian countries. The pooled results demonstrated that lower pretreatment GNRI was significantly associated with poor OS (HR = 2.01, 95% CI: 1.68-2.42, P < 0.001) and PFS (HR = 1.50, 95% CI: 1.24-1.81, P < 0.001). Subgroup analysis based on the treatment (surgery vs non-surgery) and tumor type (non-small cell lung cancer vs small cell lung cancer) showed similar results.Lower pretreatment GNRI was an independent prognostic risk factor for lung cancer patients and might contribute to the evaluation of prognosis and formulation of therapy strategies in lung cancer.
