摘要
In the realm of industrial-scale production, conventional biomanufacturing methodologies necessitate substantial utilization of freshwater resources and energy inputs. The production intricacies are multilayered, capital investment in equipment is considerable, and the incidence of microbial contamination is elevated. To remediate these identified limitations, a pioneering development termed ‘next-generation industrial biotechnology’ (NGIB) has been created by Professor George Guo-Qiang Chen and his team at Tsinghua University. This innovative technology has been successfully scaled up to industrial applications by Beijing PhaBuilder Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
